Moving forward seems impossible.
You want to feel like yourself again. Although you used to be able to power through and get stuff done without any issues, your world has shrunk, causing you to feel stuck.
Being stuck feels like you are in this endless loop of anxiety and anger while overcompensating for how you feel by constantly trying to please others.
All these feelings make you tired, wondering when it’s your turn or if things will change.
I’m here to say that they can! Healing is possible, and feeling like yourself is within reach.
Therapy can start the healing process.
It might be hard to imagine working with someone through a computer to transform your life completely, but it is possible. Hundreds of people have benefitted from working with me, and you can, too.
In each session, you will gain new understandings about yourself and others. You will learn new skills to manage life stressors and ways to communicate better to improve relationships. We will work together to help you find ways to lower the intensity of your feelings so that you are more in control and less explosive.
Through therapy, you can find comfort in the sessions to feel brave enough to face past hurts and wounds that have been festering for too long, causing you to have nightmares and a constant loop of negative thinking.
Reprocess those memories that haunt you so you can naturally heal and move into a more balanced state with restful and rejuvenating sleep.
Transformation is possible.
Imagine blossoming and transforming into the person and life you want to achieve.
It will take work, but I will guide you through each session and help you grow and embrace your newfound energy and zest for life.
Healing is not linear, so while you will feel better relatively quickly, it will take time to accomplish your goals entirely.
Once there, we can maintain this progress and continue the transformation.
My work is personal.
Much of what I do and suggest in my practice is also something I do myself.
I never ask someone to do things I don’t also do, and while, like anyone, I don’t always do them perfectly (I am human, after all), I always strive for some level of excellence.
I practice what I preach and bring integrity to each session.
About Misty Farber, LCSW
Here’s my professional background.
Having received my Masters in Social Work from USC in 2010, I am traditionally trained in psychoanalysis and work from an attachment framework that informs my care.
That framework involves looking at family issues and how you relate to others to better understand your unique experiences and tailor sessions to your needs.
I have received training backed by evidence and research focusing primarily on EMDR. I also use Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy and Dialectal Behavior Therapy concepts, and mindfulness to help people reach their goals.
Like you, I seek joy in my life.
When not sitting in front of my computer screen, I walk, hike, and travel when I can. I also enjoy spending time with my family and volunteering at my daughter’s school.
Living in this modern world can be difficult and exhausting, but having outlets is essential. I am grateful daily to live in sunny Southern California and take advantage of any time I can, especially since I was born in Michigan and grew up in Upstate New York, where rain, snow, and humidity were constant.
I can’t wait to hear more about you, where you’re from, and what you do for joy!
